The Gospel

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 8:28

Title:  All things work together for good

[In all things God works for the good of those who love him]

Yes, God has a plan for us, but it is not about us: it is all for His glory.  We have to keep this in mind when approaching the Scriptures.

As a matter of principle, (Rom. 8:28) applies only to those who affectionately love the Lord and who live in the spirit of obedience to Him; and they could expect that God would use every circumstance in life (Rom. 8:38,39) to mold us into the likeness of the Lord Jesus.  Therefore, the "good" is in being like the Lord Jesus!

If we are expecting "good" in the form of luxurious and pleasant dainties as the world defines "good," we have to look for it somewhere else, but never in the Bible, or Paul would be contradicting himself in (Rom. 18:38,39).

Is something "good" happening to us right now?  Or better yet:  Are we now like like the Lord Jesus?

If our answer to the 2nd question is "yes," then that "GOOD" has already happened to us.
