God is sovereign: we cannot order him around and tell him
what to do and when to do it.
If prayer is anything, it is an acknowledgment that the will
of God is everything, and we come to him with all humility and brokenness and
dependence because the Lord alone knows what is good for us, to prepare us for
his eternal rule and in view also of his righteousness which is the basis of
his plan for our lives.
