This season
begins with love
and ends with you,
you and your April smile
which you flashed in fragments
dainty enough
for my June hello
to conquer.
The year’s end
is still far from my mind,
a stranger in the middle
of nowhere,
like a flight of birds
too early for the dawn
to witness.
Still I need to say, “welcome,”
or you could just read it
in
my
eyes.
