The Gospel

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Hebrews 13:5

Title: I will never leave you

Very often Bible verses are quoted for their perceived benefits. While this may not be wrong in itself, it relegates the Scriptures to a mere treasure chest, from which we could draw out blessings at will. And because we approach God and His word with only our good in mind, we tend to stay on the surface, and ignore the spirit of the letter.

The Lord never leaving us is a wonderful thought, but the seriousness of His continued presence should cause us to clean up our act, watch our words, and rid our minds of evil thoughts, for His attendance so demands holiness in life from us, and only then will the blessings come.
