I’ll manage
to find whatever I want
and need
in you,
even twenty summers from today,
when we are full of years
and wisdom.
As necessary as we are
to each other,
we’ll remember
when there’s a need to remember,
be satisfied with the memories
in hand
when there’s a need to forget.
Next year will find us
ready for every
imagined holiday,
and after a few false starts
