Malachi 1:6

Title: A son honors his father

God is both Father and Master to his children and people. We are not given a choice of one from the other here, but must consider “all of the above.” In respecting a father, it is shown in not being a burden, and to a master complete obedience. Essentially, there can be no sincere submission without genuine respect. In a privileged relationship, such as we have with the Lord, these expectations legitimize our position and the blessings that come with it, as saints, the people of God.
