Matthew 2:11

Title: They presented him with gifts

Gift-giving was unknown during the birth of the Messiah, but was the culminating act in the search for the King. The treasures, as they represented, provided the means by which the purpose of the advent could be secured against the rising tide of opposition to the institution of the everlasting kingdom. By this model, worship must always be attended by offerings, and the gifts must at all times be used to herald the good news of the Savior.
