If we knew we were suffering for being good, would that stop
us from doing what is upright and proper and moral in the sight of God and of
man?
Of course not! Never!
Quite the opposite, we must welcome suffering if it is God’s
will because it identifies us with our Savior and it has a purifying and
maturing effect on the Christian, and so he yearns nothing more in this life
and deems himself lacking nothing but to dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
