Title: In spirit and in truth
Since God demands worship in spirit and in truth, it logically follows that he will reveal himself also in spirit and in truth, and only to those who worship him in the same manner.
Knowledge of who God is and the understanding of his Word come to us in response to the honesty and spirit of our worship, and through the same channel by which we reverence him who alone is the truth.
Title: He has done nothing to deserve death
The Lord Jesus was not only innocent as charged, but he was also not guilty of violating any provision of the commandments or Roman civil law. Under the interrogation of pagan leaders who could smell and feel the presence of evil intent and who were evil to the core, this became evident as his person exuded the power and command of a spotless life, even in his moments of silence.
From a religious court to a Roman hall of justice, his witness before his accusers and the authorities who had power to hand out verdicts of innocence or guilt was the embodiment of the righteousness that breathed the heavens and the earth into existence.
Title: The whole nation of you
No man is an island, even in worship.
God demands worship from everyone and everything under his dominion, and no one is outside his influence and control.
The potency and bearing of individual adoration reach their apex in national reverence in truth and spirit, so the blessings and the corrections flow from the national conscience to the individual soul.
Title: The Lord’s unfailing love
Not only will God’s merciful kindness for those who trust in him not fail; it will also not leave them, but surround and revolve around them, as if joined together as one in an enduring relationship.
